lots to see and do on Family Saturday

The day started out taking the subway to station Quinta Normal, a lovely and huge park. There is lots to see and do around this park...and we started with a visit to Ernesto's high school.
Ernesto loved his high school and I'm so glad we got to visit it as a family.
It was closed because they are fixing damages from the earthquake last year.  Even still...I love the atmosphere of this high school.  It is nothing like my Norco High...it was closer to a Harry Potter feeling.  Very cool!
There were gardens around the school...with more statues and lots of plants...and more structural damage.
What the entrance of the school looks like from the gate.  We will go back later when it is fixed and we can see more.
Quinta Normal & Museo Nacional de la Historia Natural

Love these old buildings...too bad it was closed for remodeling...due to open 2012.  But they told us to go to the subway station for a free exhibit...okay...
Happy little cowgirl after we had a little picnic in the park.
Ernesto took multiple photos...but this seemed the most fun.
The exhibit in the subway station.  Very useful and unique use of space...no?
It was pretty small...but still cool.  Chile always surprises.
Our little girl tired of talking for hours on her cellphone. :)
