Mapocho Train Station

We walked to this gorgeous train station which is now serving as a Cultural Center. I loved this building...it was beautiful outside and inside. There was a stage and chairs set up outside so I found the photo above online. I'll have to go back in a month or two to see it again.
The pillars and ornate work inside were incredible. Train stations or bus stations are visited by many people...and almost always changing people wise because of departures and arrivals every few minutes...especially here in Chile. One can only imagine all the emotions felt in a place like this as loved ones are bidding farewell or receiving those loved ones from afar.
I had to find a picture of the station from years ago...so charming...
I loved all of the natural light seeping in from the train doors and windows. So pretty!
This is the guard on duty...I wish I would have asked his name. I love seeing how people live and work here in Chile. In uniform...permorming a duty...fascinates me because we are all so much alike. We all have similar lives...no matter where we live.
