Chile: Dalcahue on Isla Chiloe

The travel book said that this small city about a half an hour from Castro has a handicraft fair on Sundays...so before we headed mainland we wanted to check it out.  First encounter was quite interesting...more like a community garage sale for used clothing and things.
Bit of a disappointment...but still a good experience, right?
Notice the stuff on the table...towards the left...they use dried seaweed for cooking something...sound good?
Little duckies for sale...so cute!

The most interesting thing about this city was the inside of the Catholic church.  Like I mentioned earlier...when the Catholic priests/missionaries arrived to the Chiloe Island...they introduced Jesus Christ using the mythological figures of the Island.  So inside the Dalcahue church...you see Jesus Christ and the figures being remembered!  All the churches are made of wood on Chiloe Island...all being designated World Heritage Sites by UNESCO too!
