Chile: Ancud a city of Isla Chiloe

We traveled from Puerto Varas to Puerto Montt by bus...then another bus took us by ferry over to the Chiloe Island to our night stay in Ancud.  We arrived just in time for sunset in our quaint, charming, and simply pleasant hostal with views of the sea...loved it!  Azaleia too!

We read in our Lonely Planet guide that the restaurant around the corner from our hostal Kuranton had the best Curanto on the island...and it was true!
Consists of various kinds of meat...sausage/chicken/pork/beef and three different types of potato...with tons of seafood and a soup to go with!  I really liked it...which is saying a lot for me...it was sooo good...better than my salmon!

We enjoyed our morning stroll through Ancud...seeing the port...buying some wool mittens and socks...Ernesto buying some handmade games from a nice gentleman in the plaza...and visiting the history museum before traveling to another city.

Mythical figure of the island remembered in the plaza...very interesting indeed.  More to come in another city!

Overall we loved our time in Ancud!  Nos gusto mucho nuestra visita en Ancud!
