Christmas Day at the Beach

In Antofagasta, Chile...it is pretty much desert and beach...so most people go to the beach often...especially on Christmas day. Azaleia had so much fun with her Mima and Pipa...playing in the sand the majority of the time. We were at the beach from about 5-8pm. In Chile the rays of sun are too strong during the day...so most people go to the beach in the morning or late afternoon. Here in Antofagasta it is even very popular to go 10-12pm...because the water is much warmer at night. Pipa said he would take us...we'll see if we can because it sounds great!
The waves here are too huge...so the city designates swimming areas, placing large rocks on the outskirts to keep out the strong current and huge waves. The Balenario is one of the most popular places. They have the bathing area...and even a floating dock you can swim out to...and even a boardwalk that goes out to the end of the cove/swimming area. This last year huge mosiac/sand murals were added...a nice artistic touch for sure!I love Christmas here in Chile!
