Holiday Weekend in Colorado with the Shirleys

This last weekend we headed out to COLORADO...and LOVED IT!
(we were stuck on the 80 waiting for an accident to clear...so it was a long trip)

Swimming outside in the little pool was another highlight...after they got over the shock of cold water of course!

Mr. Jackson is a LOVER of water...but not as brave as the girls to sit down in the cold water...

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY - 2010 - BRIGHTON, CO

Lisa Webb and her family drove from another part of Denver to spend the evening with us...and oh what a fun celebration. It feels good to hang out with friends that you grew up with. So fun!

After eating some num nums we got in the car to drive to a school in Brighton for the firework show...but since it was pouring...it was canceled! BooHoo!

So they bought some sparklers and little things to make our own show in the Shirley garage/driveway. It ended up being a great show since so many neighbors had their own fireworks blasting...so we saw enough for the holiday!

Well since it was thunderstormy over the weekend...we had to stay a full day Monday and enjoy the beautiful sites around Denver. So glad we did...because it was a Beautiful Day!

DOWNTOWN BOULDER PEARL STREET

First we headed to Boulder...and loved loved loved it! It is a very green place with active-healthy people...bikes everywhere.
They had the cutest outdoor shopping area...and it made for a lovely day!

DENVER LDS TEMPLE

before we left Denver...we headed to the Temple...which is similar to Santiago Chile...

it is amazing to feel the difference when you walk on temple grounds...so so peaceful

We drove the whole way again...and it was a beautiful drive through Colorado!
Highly recommend the drive on the 70...much more than the 80!
Green and mountains and lakes...and canyons...just gorgeous!
While it is always nice to be home...we sure did love Colorado!
Especially being with the Shirleys! :)
